I’ve been a software developer for almost 20 years, working across multiple industries and technologies (these days mostly building microservices in Go). I’ve gone through a lot of languages, frameworks, and shifts in the industry, but one thing hasn’t changed: I like understanding how things actually work under the hood.

This blog (and the channel that goes with it) is the record of the “outside of work” side of that my homelab. Here I document everything I’m building: home automation (Zigbee, Home Assistant), self-hosted infrastructure (Gitea, CI/CD, deploy pipelines), networking and security (Pi-hole, VPN), and local storage/media.

This isn’t polished “homelab expert” content, it’s the real process, mistakes included. If a post here covers a deploy error or a config that broke before it worked, that’s because that’s exactly how it happened.
